I don’t know what it is about the mornings, but you are more susceptible at that time of the day to feeling the blight of first world problems more than any time of the day. Don’t get me wrong, there are legitimate reasons to be annoyed while making the gruel of a commute to work every day (public transport being the main reason.) I feel, though sometimes things happen during your travels in the morning that make you 20x more annoyed than you would feel at any other time in the day.
I sometimes look at random people throughout the morning on my way to whatever commitment I must fulfil and I sometimes say to myself ‘’you have been put on the earth by God himself to simply grind my gears.’’ Now this is completely untrue, and it’s actually more of a reflection on myself than the person that is annoying me for no credible reason I can piece together, I suppose one of the reasons I write these at night is because if I were to write them first thing in the morning I would probably be in prison for putting my true thoughts out onto the internet as soon as I awaken.
I think public transport is the main source of all of our annoyances in the morning but there is one other thing that makes me want to run back to the comfort of my bed and/or scream into the clouds ‘’WHYYYYY’’ that would be the very thoughtful citizens we deal with in shops that spend far more time at the counter than should be legally allowed at that time in the morning. As much as I argue that people are far too lax about tapping their cards (which has resulted in a €22.50 purchase becoming a €250 in one case) taking out your wallet to count out your shrapnel of change to the shop attendant while there is a que equivalent to that of an USSR breadline in 1982 building up behind you to purchase a Red Bull and a €1 scratch card should have you in the dock of the Hauge!
Aside from that some mornings can be pretty chill. That is until three prams with six children and four mothers cram onto your mode of public transport in the morning and force you to squeeze against the window and hope to God that you don’t have to climb your way over the heads of others to disembark the vehicle. Yes, I get it people need to get around the place and public transport is one of the only efficient ways to get from A-B but that doesn’t take away my right to be mildly annoyed one bit.
Ill be honest I don’t really know where I’m going with this article. I guess it’s because it’s a Tuesday and I’m back in work in the morning (God help me.) Or maybe I just needed to vent, who knows. That said it was nice to get it all out on paper. Anyway, enjoy the rest of your week, and never feel ashamed to be mildly annoyed, just make sure you act like a true psychopath and write it in a pointless blog rather than take it out on actual humans in public.
